I'd like to suggest that:Reasons:
- Jonah Whipple {94966} is the Jonah Whipple (age 63 at death) who was buried Oct. 27, 1844 in the Owasco Rural Cemetery, Owasco, Cayuga, NY (http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycayuga/cem/cem155.htm);
- Jonah Whipple {94966} is the father of Jonah Whipple {109316};
- Lida (Lydia) Whipple (age 79 at death) bur. Apr 22, 1866 in the Owasco Rural Cemetery, Owasco, Cayuga, NY (http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycayuga/cem/cem155.htm) is Jonah's wife and mother of Jonah Whipple {109316}.
- It would be easy for a transcriber/tombstone reader to interpret 1844 as 1847 (or vice versa), and the Oct. 27 date is too coincidental;
- Jonah Whipple {109316} and other members of his family are also buried in the Owasco Rural Cemetery;
- The coincidence of Jonah Whipple {109316} being named Jonah and that he has a daughter Lydia {109321};
- The elder, widowed, Lydia Whipple is living next to Jonah Whipple {109316} on both the 1850 and 1860 censuses (see below);
- Marshall Whipple {94697} and Harvey Whipple {94970} relocated from VT to Cayuga County, NY; brothers often moved "west" together at that time
